Korean version Hana Yori Dango/Meteor Garden set to charm in 2008
After the mega popularity of Meteor Garden first in Taiwan back in 2001 and then subsequently Hana Yori Dango in Japan in recent years, Korea is also set to have its very own version of Meteor Garden in 2008.
Popular Japanese anime, Hana Yori Dango will be adapated into a Korean drama. The Taiwanese and Japanese version of the television drama has achieved phenomenal ratings during its run and the Japanese version which was shown on cable television achieved pretty good ratings and earning lots of fans in the process. The company which will be producing this is Group Eight whose previous works were Goong: Princess Hours and Fantasy Couple. The Japanese rights holder decided to work with Group Eight after learning about it’s production capability after viewing Goong S.
By releasing this exciting news first, Group Eight has created lots of anticipation and hype over who will be taking the roles ahead of the actual casting. Many netizens in fact are already posting and discussing furiously over who their ideal cast should be since the news broke yesterday.
With regards to the Korean F4, the production team revealed, “We will be choosing based on their similarities with the anime characters. We won’t be choosing based on how popular or how well-known they are.” The Korean version of Hanayori Dango is set at 24 episodes, each clocking in at 70 minutes and will be shown on television in the latter part of 2008.

Who is the most adequate actor for the role of Dao Ming Si in Korean version of “Meteor Garden/Hana Yori Dango”?
Famous Japanese comic “Hana Yori Dango/Meteor Garden” was made into a drama with Japanese version and Taiwanese version, and both became very popular. Therefore, Korea is preparing to make a version of its own, and there is an online poll for chosing the casts of the drama!
There are a lot of anticipations for KBS2 version of “Meteor Garden “. The station is recruiting actors for the drama, and they schedule to air this drama around middle of 2008. While the station is planning for the advertising of this drama, netizens conduct their own poll to select the cast members. Some people think Go Hye Sung in “King And I” is the best actress to play the role of Shan Cai (the main female role) while others think that Yoon Eun Hye is more adequate for this role.
For the male role, netizens think Im Joo Hwan (the supporting actor in Snow Queen) is fit to portray Hua Ze Lei. Others pick Choi Si won, Jang Geun Suk, Jung Kyung Ho, and Lee Min Ki to play the role of either Xi Men or Mei Zuo. As for the main actor of the drama, Dao Ming Si, the most votes go to Jo In Sung (he did a commercial with Go Hye Sun awhile ago). The rest of the votes go to Kang Dong Won, Lee Dong Gun, Jang Hyuk, and Hyun Bin.

The face that popped into my mind when I heard abt Korean Hana Yori Dango is Lee Joon Ki for the role of Soujiro…
He can definitely pull off the playboy role, and yet be a sweet character…
i hope Yoon Eun Hye will be tsukushi.. she really is a very good actress… she’ll be perfect for that part..
yoon eun hye hands down.. cant think of anyone else more perfect for the job.. for this version to be successful. the f4 has to look 10 times more hotter than the ther f4 versions.. people are already tired enough of the series… give me something to drool over.. lol

first im so glad that every one didnt forget the story of that mangga because it was really great super.. its awesome..
and i already watch both 2 version meteor garden and hana yori dango and im a sertified fanatic!! both of theme have there own charateristic.. the way they do the drama and the actors and actresses express the true feeling of the character that they are rolling.. specially the love triangle of dao ming xi,san cai,hua ze lei of meteor garden and domyuji,makino,rui hanazawa of hana yori dango..

i think kyu hyun of suju will be better to play the role of hanazawa rui, he reminds me of vic zhou, and the way i observed on him, he’s quite a bit of hanazawa rui’s attitude, though i haven’t know him that much!
lee dong won, hyun bin and others are too mature for the role, sorry for their fans! it is just only my opinion.
better yet they go for an audition to look for the best lead actors and actress.

i think it is not better for yoon eun hye to be makino, coz its just like she is very annoying to watch…she’s not better..pls make a very good choice coz it is a phenomenon asian drama.

truth is i want to see In-sung act as I have not seen him in ages…I really missed him and I’m super sure that the role Dao Ming fits him oh so well, He’s even way better than the role itself but knowing him, I’m not getting my hopes too high since He aims for super challenging and way difficult roles so maybe He won’t even like it. But I really hope that He would as He is leaving soon for the military. I’ll go crazy if its just His movie that he will leave behind. please In-sung ssi!!!!
